I really wouldn't be surprised if one day soon a giant shimmering dome extended over Japan and the entire island chain blasted off into space. The last thing the rest of us would see would be their children, cheerfully singing and flipping us the bird as they rocketed towards their pristine and orderly new future among the stars.
